Previous Next Walden University Opportunity Walden University, a national leading for-profit institution of higher education, selected Aegis Mobile to create a mobile experience that would enable students, prospective students and other stakeholders to easily navigate the Walden website from their mobile device. The objective for deploying a mobile optimized website was to improve the user experience on mobile devices and ultimately increase recruitment leads. The Approach Aegis Mobile partnered with Walden to understand their goals, objectives and constraints in developing a mobile site. Aegis consulted with the Walden team, providing detailed wireframes, visual comps, and an optimized mobile website that integrated with Walden’s internal lead generation platform. The Aegis Advantage As a full-service provider of mobile solutions, Aegis: • Developed the site design and layout • Delivered a mobile site optimized for viewing multiple devices profiles, including • iPhone • several Blackberry models, including the Bold, Curve, Pearl, Storm and Tour • smart phones • feature phones • Seamlessly integrated with Walden’s lead generation platform by providing a direct feed of information completed on the “Request Info” page • Provides ongoing site support and content management The Results Since deployment mid-September 2010 • The mobile site has averaged 500-700 hits per day • Traffic spikes occurred during semester breaks as students, and prospective students, are seeking information on degree programs, tuition and general information • Up to 3% of total site visits have resulted in the visitor completing the “Request Info” page generating a lead to Walden • A 105% increase in leads generated from the mobile site in just over four months Flip Opportunity Through agency partner, Media Storm, Aegis Mobile was contracted to provide a multi-channel marketing program for the Flip Video brand. Flip Video is owned by Cisco, a Fortune 100 Company. To support the 2010 holiday season, Aegis developed and implemented a campaign consisting of mobile web banner advertising, out-of-home advertising and a sweepstakes component. The objective of the campaign was to generate buzz and drive communication within the mobile channel among a mass audience. Campaign Details The holiday promotion centered on a sweepstakes which was advertised using mobile web banners and out-of-home placement. The Call to Action (CTA) asked viewers to text FLIP to an Aegis provided short code for a chance to win a free Flip Video camera. Up to 500 cameras would be awarded to winners selected during the month of December. Non-winners would be sent an ecoupon for later redemption. The Aegis Advantage As a full-service provider of mobile solutions, Aegis partnered with Media Storm to: • Develop the creative for Flip Video • Purchase and place banner advertising by partnering with a leading ad network • Develop mobile and PC web landing pages, including a Alternate Method of Entry pages • Built and managed database housing all sweepstakes entrant information • Manage sweepstakes from start to finish, including: • Consultation around state bond requirements • Creation and implementation of message flow • Winner selection and notification • Winner communication and validation of eligibility requirements • Prize fulfillment and tracking • Provide project management and reporting throughout the campaign The Results With a media budget of $54,000 earmarked for banner advertising, the campaign achieved: • Over 18.2M views between December 1 and December 29 • Average Click Thru Rate of 1.49% (industry average for banners is 0.2% to 0.3%) • Over 10,000 entrants, with 74% of entries originating via text message.
